Explaining seasonal patterns of food consumption

When questioned, people typically report that different foods are appropriate at times of the year. That is, patterns food consumption exhibit seasonal variations. Changes in odour hedonics and familiarity ratings have also been reported over course year, especially those countries with marked changes climate. The question addressed this review is what factors help to explain these differences consumption. While our nutritional needs undoubtedly do differ somewhat environmental (e.g., think only ambient temperature and/or humidity), physiological/perceptual (i.e., threshold changes), psychological wanting make a healthy start New Year) play role. Taken together, though, it would appear cultural/ritual factors, as well influence increasingly-sophisticated data-driven marketing may be more important than nutritional, environmental, or physiological helping why so many us choose eat despite increasing availability on year-round basis increasingly globalized marketplace developed countries.
